After months and months of waiting. The love of my life Nicki Minaj has released the official cover for her new album "Pink Friday-The Album". Its looking to hit shelves on November 22, 2010. Nicki has really been on a fast incline in the music industry. Breaking the Billboard Hot 100 record for the only female rapper to be featured on more than 10 number 1 hits, Nicki has truly shown the world that she's here to stay. So you know Pink Friday is gonna come with it! With already hits like Your Love, Massive Attack & Check It Out, Nicki has a few other tracks that she's saving for when the album drops. We here at Black Tie supports Nicki to the fullest, and will defiantly have our copy of the album on release day. Hopefully Nicki will do a personal feature on our site in the future. VIBE MAGAZINE vs. MOREHOUSE COLLEGE

"WILL THEY ONLY LOOK AT US AS A GAY SCHOOL? OR THE FACT THAT WE PRODUCE THE WORLD'S MOST ELITE." The article is entitled "The Mean Girls of Morehouse". In VIBE Magazine's latest issues, critics chose to address the various gay issues at the world's greatest institution for black men. As a student at Morehouse, it affects me every time the media wishes to speak negatively about my school. As studies have shown, the gay, lesbian, bi-sexual community has been around for centuries, so now in this day and age, where we are prone to accept things more; the question must be asked. What is the over-all reason for society's hatred toward this community? In the article, that was strongly opinionated, the author spoke as if they knew EXACTLY the means of being a product of this institution. Now, being a student I will not say that Morehouse is 100% perfect because every place has its fair share of problems and issues. But! from this article, I really wish they'd talked to the gay community at Morehouse College and got an hands on opinion and stand point from them. I give much respect to the former Morehouse brother they did interview, but it seems as if he wanted to subliminally bash the school for not accepting him. When he knew on a first hand basis that, with a institution like Morehouse, dresses, hand bags, and heels WILL NOT be acceptable. So now is not the time to feel discriminated against. As the 10th President of Morehouse College stated some time ago, "Morehouse is not a GAY school, it is a GREAT school". "Here we walk the grounds of great men to become greater men!" simple quotes like this lets you know that place is no joke. As far as VIBE and their article, I give them respect for their craft, but I totally disagree on the way they chose to address the situation. Not every man that attends and graduates from Morehouse is homosexual, nor will he be the next CEO of a fortune 500 company. But know this, EVERY product of Morehouse College is a success story in their own way, weather gay or straight. That's the thing about attending a private institution like Morehouse, Spelman, Clark Atlanta, and other HBCU's. Its such a nurturing environment, that you will only understand it if you attend. And that they mold and make you into leaders. All to make our community and world a better place.

Kaela Freeman is a 15 year old singer/songwriter from Murrietta, CA. Having gained her start to fame from TV Commercials, Kaela has began to take the music industry by storm. Along with her 17 year old brother Tyler, the duo are the hottest artists yet hailing from Sickman Records in Los Angeles, CA. Kaela's newest single "What Yo Name Is" is a catchy upbeat tempo song that all young girls her age can relate to. Sir Will

From living and attending school in Atlanta, GA. for the past 3 years, Ive come to realize that this place is truly the mecca of talented artist and individuals. The latest artist to cross my path is a guy by the name of Sir Will. Sir Will is a songwriter, musician, and rapper known for his stylistic choice of music, unique sound, and originality. His sound covers many musical genres, which include rock, jungle, funk, hip hop, and pop. The eclectic range of influences in his music includes Andre 3000, LiL Wayne, Prince, Kanye West, Cold Play, and DeAngelo. The first time I listened to his music was through a good friend and business personal of mine Danielle Jeter. Some may remember a post done on her and her profound business "Affairs of Isis". Knowing how Jeter never deals with anything bad, I knew this guy had to be something serious.

Sir Will, grew up in Stone Mountain, GA. not far from the busy money making city of Atlanta. Not long after his completion of High School, Sir Will became a familiar face around Atlanta winning several talent shows hosted by radio station Hot107.9 ATL Talent, which led to an opportunity to perform at the Birthday Bash, BET Blaze the Stage, and many other high-profile events. He honed his skills and went on to win a number of talent contests. This success attracted many record label representatives. With the ups and downs of the music industry, Sir Will managed to become apart of a record label that understood his passion and drive for the music he loved. Later signing with Avalon Music Group (AMG) to manage his career. He was mentioned in the March 2009 issue of Atlanta’s Rolling Stone magazine after performing at a showcase featuring LiL Wayne, which is by far, the most memorable moment in his music career. He has released two installments in his "Road 2 Rose" mixture series including "The Rose Dawson edition" and "The Detour".

Sir Will’s performance at New York’s SOB club has only added credibility to his exquisite sound and talent. Just recently this month, Sir Will has been chosen to participate in MTV’s Break the Band Competition. He will soon begin touring in Germany with other large Atlanta artists such as Nivea and Rasheeda. This is only the beginning for Sir Will and he has already won the hearts of many. The magnitude of his creative and distinctive sound will only continue to captivate music lovers worldwide. Trust and believe! This isn't the last time you'll be hearing about Sir Will. IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!!!!!!! Earlier today Nicki Minaj, The Harajuku Barbie released the first video off her long awaited album that's due to drop Nov. 22nd. The First single off the album is "Your Love" and while its not one of Nicki's hardcore rap records, It feels good to hear here singing on a track for a change. The video details a story between Nicki and her Sensei. Without giving too much away, lets just say if u a die hard Nicki fan, you won't like the ending. Summer Jam 2010 In NYC

This past weekend was the Summer Jam Concert in New York City. Everyone who is anyone was definitely in the building. And representatives of The Black Tie Affair were in effect also. Monica Sings The National Anthem At NBA Game: 3

First there was Whitney, then there was Beyonce', now it Monica. R&B singer, and big sister to the site Monica, sang at The Lakers v. Celtics Game 3 last night. Her rendition of the National Anthem was by far superb. Monica, who recently released her latest album "Still Standing" is truly showing the music game that she hasn't gone anywhere. In case you were living under a rock last night and missed my big sister kill the National Anthem, The Black Tie Affair is broadcasting it to you right here. Lil' Kim vs. Nicki Minaj

Ever since our girl Nicki Minaj has hit the scene, everyone wants to say that she's coming for Lil' Kim's title as the freaky girl in Hip-Hop. But for the record, Nicki is making a name for herself in her own way. This past weekend, Lil' Kim did a performance were her longtime ex-boyfriend Ray-J accompanied her. Ray took shots at Nicki and Kim egged him on as well. On the other hand a NYC underground rapper by the name of Keyz fired a few shots at the Harajuku Barbie over her freestyle "Itty Bitty Piggy", featured on her mixtape "Beam Me Up Scotty". Why all the hatred toward Nicki? I personally love Miss Minaj, and had the pleasure of meeting her in Atlanta were TBTA did a feature on her B-Day even in December. But i guess its true. Everyone isn't gonna like you. And in this industry, its more than just a few. Keep Your Head Up NICKI! we love u!

Telephone....The Official Video

About 15 minutes, connects emailed me the official video of Lady Gaga feat. Beyonce Telephone. The long awaited video has had the entire music industry on pins and needles. But here at the Black Tie Affair we are broadcasting it to you right now. After watching the video, I must say that its not what i thought it would be. Gaga, chose to set this video up as a mini movie featuring the Queen Bey, and R&B singer Tyrese. If you pay close attention, you'll see various relations to the the Blockbuster film Kill Bill: Vol, 1&2. Overall this video left me extremely speechless in the end, especially the To Be Continued.... left at the end of the movie. So does this mean there is a remix approaching?..speculations say maybe. but here at TBTA will keep you posted every step of the way.

Fantasia is back For Real!

Tonight was the season finale of season 3 American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino's VH1 show Fantasia: For Real. Night after night we watched Tasia struggle with family and issues of the industry. But through it all she made it. Fantasia recently released her first single Even Angels off her 3 and long awaited album that's due to drop later this year. The soft and sweet track allows Tasia to pour out her soul and if you listen closely, you can even hear her crying. Fantasia believes "I cant sing a song unless i can really relate to it". And judging from the few songs on the show, this is her supreme breakout album. So bump all the other blogs, this one is on Team Fantasia. And will continue to bring you the goods surrounding our girl. Hopefully we can get an interview sometime soon.

Ludacris Is Back!

ATL's own and friend to all who love true rap music, Ludacris is back with another studio album. Battle of The Sexes is truly one for the clubs. Featuring artist like Nicki Minaj, Lil' Kim, Monica, Trey Songz, etc. Luda's album will truly be the talk of the Spring and Summer. The official release date is 3/9/10. And if you thought How Low and My Bad Chick were bangers, go cop the album for yourself and see just how fye it really is. We give mad props to Ludacris, and continue to wish him much success. Lil' Wayne GOES IN!

Today was the official sentencing of Young Money CEO Lil' Wayne. These past few days of his freedom have truly been hard for his family and those dear to him, especially his fans. As a process of preparing for his sentence, Wayne had to get dental veneers, replacing his platinum grill. He also had to allegedly cut off his hair. Wow! when Wayne gets out, we really wont recognize him. All day today, the members of Young Money; Nicki Minaj, Tyga, Gutta Gutta, etc. tweeted their encouraging words for Wayne, as he headed to prison. Wayne is truly gonna be missed, but we all know this gives him time to come harder once released.

Nivea "Love Hurts"

Its seems as if only a few months ago, R&B singer Nivea had just given birth to her and Lil' Wayne's first child. Now she's back in the studio working on a new album. Earlier today Nivea released her latest video entitled "Love Hurts" were she bears all about here and Weezy's relationship. As if this was juicy enough, she features Wayne in the video, were he plays her love interest. Ironic?, by no means. We all are aware that Wayne will be serving time in jail pretty soon, so I guess Nivea wanted to air all this dirty laundry ASAP. I wonder what Lauren London has to say about this? Yesterday was the official release of the 3rd single from the long awaited, darkest album yet, by Rihanna. "Rude Boy" is a seductive song in which Rih looks to find a guy who can handle her high sex drive. But by judging the video, she defiantly showed a very sexual and playful side. Pearl Restaurant & Lounge

Last night while everyone was tuned into the Grammy Awards, I had the pleasure of checking out another one of Atlanta's hottest chill spots. Graduating Senior of Spelman College and CEO of Affairs of Isis; Danielle Jeter was the host for this extravagant event. Located at the Pearl Lounge 253 Peters St. In the heart of the Atlanta University Center, this private affair was one for the history books. The mood of the place was a very chill and intimate one, everyone dressed to the occasion in business casual attire. There were food and drinks to go around. Cuisines included Caesar salads, quesidias, and even a 5 star cheesecake that had everyone mouth watering. It truly felt good to be surrounded around the positive socialites of the AUC community, and the host Ms. Jeter made sure everyone was at ease. Pearl Restaurant & Lounge was truly the place to be last night in Atlanta. And here at TBTA we send a special Happy Birthday shout out to Danielle Jeter, CEO of Affairs of Isis.
